My First Give-Away
Yup. I'm giving it away. Just leave a comment telling me what you love about the fall season to be eligible to win this 8x10 inch print of Sheltering Trees.
What I love about fall is: Bright orange leaves against a grey sky, the smell of woodsmoke in the air, and my renewed desire to stay home and make huge pots of soup from scratch.
Deadline to enter is midnight October 13, Pacific Time. On the morning of October 14, all names will be put into a hat and randomly picked by my darling husband Ian. I will announce the winner on my blog at 8am, Pacific Time.
I look forward to hearing from all of you and finding out just what you love about fall!
Sheltering Trees: Taken from an original 18x24 acrylic painting by Suzanne McLean. Print is professionally reproduced on archival cardstock using archival inks with excellent colour resolution. It is signed, titled, dated and numbered on the front in pencil just under the image, and comes in a protective cello sleeve.
The original painting is still available in my online gallery: DreamGallery

Oh, I hope I win!! :-)
What a love about fall is the crispness in the air, the smell of woodsmoke from chimneys when I walk the dog in the evening, and the oodles of festivals and craft shows that seem to spring up all over the place! And pulling out the crockpot again to make stews and soups and white chili! M-m-m-m-m-m-m!
In the fall the cruise ships stop coming to Juneau and the air becomes particularly crisp and clean.
I love to break out the cider and the big sweaters in the fall, to feel chilly while the sun is shining, and to smell rotting leaves and berries on the trail.
The fall makes me "homesick" I grew up in the Hudson Valley NY. The fall was breath taking there. The Bear mtn acted as the perfect backdrop to the Hudson river's reflection of the beautiful fall colors. We would take road trips just to see the foliage. I now live in Florida where the only color change is green to brown to green.
I love fall because the tourists go home, my beach clears, the trees turn into works of art and I can wear my favorite chunky sweater.
As a child, Fall to me meant piling on the couch by the wood burning stove to watch football - usually after a morning of raking the leaves
I love the sound of the leaves crunching underfoot and the blaze of colors as the fall foliage hit their peak... raking piles of leaves and watching the kids jump in them a few times before bagging them up for compost later... the cooler air, and the fun of apple picking and searching for the perfect pumpkin in the patch-and of course Halloween!

What I love about fall/autumn are the smells. I know you can't paint a smell, but often times I feel like I can smell the painting. I love the smell of fireplaces, fallen leaves, pumpkin carving. The first snow!
Thank you for your art!

Ooooohhhh I want this too :) I love fall, I love the colours of the trees, I love the coolness in the morning and then the heat later on, I love dressing in layers, I love the constant anticipation of "when will the snow come?" - just simply fall is one of my favourite seasons!
